Twardy 2.0 Devlog #3

After 3 months, the long-awaited 0.0.3 Twardy 2.0 Devlog has arrived. Lots of new features have been added since the last devlog, and if you stick around until the end, I will announce what the next update will be. Thanks for supporting Twardy 2.0.

In the new update, I've added 3 new enemies: the Zombie, the Seed Mimic, and the Ruin Ghost. The Zombie spawns at night and does 0.5 damage upon contact. During the day, Zombies will burn to death. The Seed Mimic looks very similar to the seed. When Mark (the player character)'s distance to the Seed Mimic is below 700 pixels, the Seed Mimic will wake up and walk towards Mark at a moderate speed. The Seed Mimic also does 0.5 damage on contact. The Ruin Ghost has a common chance at spawning at the new Ruins structure. When Mark's distance to the Ruin Ghost is below 350 pixels, then the Ruin Ghost will chase Mark fairly quickly. Unlike the previous enemies, the Ruin Ghost will do 0.75 damage on contact.

As I mentioned earlier, Ruins have been added to the game. Ruins rarely spawn, having there be 7-12 ruins per world. Ruins have a table with a piece of paper on it. When Mark collides with the paper, it will display 1 of 3 old documents. You will need a decoder to  read the old documents.

Another feature that now generates are trees. Trees generate quite often; you probably won't ever have a screenshot containing 0 trees. Other than being decoration, Trees don't do anything else (for now).

There are 2 new songs in Twardy 2.0: "Playground" and "Too Many Drums". These songs were only implemented so there could be a wider selection of music.

There is now an indicator that shows 10 seconds before night and day to indicate when they're coming. I felt like this feature needed to be implemented so players wouldn't be confused when night just appeared out of nowhere.

A big feature in version 0.0.3 is XP orbs. Almost every action you can do you can get XP orbs. The larger the XP orb, the more XP you get.

If you are still reading this, then you will find out what the next update is: Screenshot 20250429170809! This will be the very first screenshot update and the first for update 0.0.4. In screenshot updates, you will be able to see stats like the game's current resolution or the current time in-game. The whole point of screenshot updates is that they are basically pre-beta updates; they are highly experimental. You will be able to play the new  screenshot update probably later this week, if nothing gets in my way.

Hopefully, update 0.0.4 won't take as long as 0.0.4 did. Anyways, stay tuned for more Twardy 2.0 news on the Twardy 2.0 Devlog!
