Ruins in Twardy 2.0
A main part of the 0.0.3 update for Twardy 2.0 is the inclusion of ruins. So far, there are three main mechanics for ruins: ruin generation, Ruin Ghosts, and old documents. This Twardy 2.0 Devlog post will explain everything apart of the ruins.
Ruin Generation
Ruins won't be very common in a Twardy 2.0 world; only 7-12 will generate. Ruins are 256 x 256 pixels big. That's about quadruple the size of Mark (the player character). Ruins don't really do anything on their own; that's where the second mechanic comes in:
Ruin Ghosts
Ruin Ghosts have a chance to generate by ruins. They won't attack you until you're <350 pixels close to them. Ruin Ghosts do 0.75 damage on impact.
Old Documents
If Mark collides with the paper at the ruins, 1 of 2 (and more planned) documents will appear on screen. The documents are caesar ciphered, so you need a decoder to read them. To hide the documents, just left-click on them. Note that once you hide the document, you won't be able to view it again until you collide with the ruins again.
